Walker’s Sizzling Steak Fajita Crisps REVIEW #DoUsAFlavour

HOLA, GANG!!!!

It’s the end of the road for the Walker’s Crisps Content series!!  I’m wrapping it up with Issac (my son) and I trying the ever-meaty Walker’s Sizzling Steak Fajita Crisps.

I’ve really enjoyed bringing this video review series to you.  Firstly, it’s something that I cannot get inside the United States without the magic of the Internet and something I really, really enjoyed chowing down on.

Walkers Crisps are so different from their parent company Lays.  Crisps are less greasy, less salty, and Walkers seems to be able to nail a flavor exactly.  The meat flavors taste like the specified meats!  It really blew us away with how spot-on they got this!!  I’m anxious to try more of their regular flavors and review those for you.

So, below is the video and below that is the link to the entire series.  Enjoy and let me know in the comments if you’ve tried any of the Walker’s Do Us A Flavour Crisps and what you thought.

Take care, HAVE A FREAKING AWESOME DAY, and I’ll see you next post!!!

Fast Food Order Frustration

HOLA, GANG!!

As an old nerd, I tend to rant and rave.  After living as many years as I have, I tend not to care too much about what I say.  You can expect that as well as you age (maybe you do now!).  Poor service at a restaurant is a big frustration to me; especially when there is really very little excuse for it.

I have been to the Taco Bell at 11717 NE 65th Avenue in Vancouver, WA many times over.  Either I’m ordering dinner for myself and my wife or I’m grabbing something for a review.  Up until recently, the orders have been straight off the menu and everything has been fine.  A week ago, I tried the Triple Layer Nachos off their Dollar Cravings menu.Taco Bell Triple Layer Nachos

I love nachos and sometimes I just like to keep it simple.  This particular item consists of chips, nacho cheese, refried beans, and a tangy red sauce.  I found that the red sauce is way too hot for me, so after the first time of setting my mouth aflame, I began asking them to leave the red sauce off.

For one reason or another, this seems to be too tall an order for the people who work there.  I don’t understand why.  It’s a simple single item and leave one thing off.  I’ve ordered this when they weren’t even busy to give you a better grasp of my gripe.

They have messed this up twice now.  The first time, I had the common sense to check my order before I left and had them fix the problem right away.  This last time, I ended up driving all the way home, only to find a batch of red sauce squarely in the middle of the chips and cheese.

This is not complicated and, as I consumer, I believe that we all should be getting what we pay for.  In this case, less than what we pay for.  Leave something off!

One the positive side, they were always apologetic and willing to fix my order right away.  I just need them to get this one, single thing correct and all will be right with the world.

Have you had experiences like this before?  I’m sure I’m far and away from the only one.  Tell me your story in the comments before.

HAVE A FREAKING AWESOME DAY!! 😉

Hi, gang!!

It’s time for another stomach-trembling round of Eating The Dollar Stores!  This time around, I’m trying another product from Fast Bites who are the folks that make all the frozen food, burgers, and sandwiches that you tend to find in the convenience stores.  Finding them for only $1 at the Dollar Tree is an even sweeter deal!

Today, I bring to you the Fast Bites BBQ Rib Sandwich.  There are many of you who asked me to do this and let you know if it stood up to the McDonald’s McRib.  Really?? Okay. 😉

There you go, gang!! Have you had the Fast Bites BBQ Rib Sandwich and what did you think about it?

Take care and I see you next video!!!

Carl’s Jr Monster Biscuit REVIEW – By Request!

Whenever I get a request to review something at Carl’s Jr, I jump at the chance.  They are simply one of my favorite fast food chain restaurants!

I remember the first time I ate there.  Back then, it was actually Hardees and I will living in Sundance, WY (the actual Hardees are in South Dakota).  I have never even heard of them before, but was up for something new.

I was in the mood for a burger and, being in the central states, the meat of choice was buffalo.  I flipped!!  It was some of the leanest and best-tasting meats I had ever had.  I love it to this day and make sure to grab a couple pounds when the local supermarkets have it.

I digress. 😉

So, this time around, I was asked to try the Carl’s Jr Monster Biscuit.  I’ve had this item off their breakfast menu before, so I knew what to expect.  But, you guys have the ability to call the shots and, if I can swing it, I’ll take any requests you have for me.

Without further ado, let’s go to the video!!

There you go, gang.  Another review in the bag!!  Come hang out at the Old Nerd Reviews Facebook Page.  I love to get wacky over there with the Old Nerd Crony Community!

See you next time!!!

7 Eleven Pork Egg Roll REVIEW

It’s always a thrill for me when I find something brand new or limited time (or both!).  It’s chance to bring you guys something fun!!

I live literally 1 minute away from 7 Eleven.  I can actually see it from my front porch.  So, when there is something new to try there, I’m on top of it.  Such is the case with their brand new Pork Egg Roll!

My wife was heading out of town for the week and asked me to run over and grab her some mints.  With 7-11 so close, it was a no-brainer to make that my mint-pickup-place of choice.

Whenever I go to any store, I always take the time to look around and bit to see what new and exciting things to try I may find.  This is one of the joys of this job!!  I’m often like a kid in a candy store….especially when I’m in a candy store!!!

As soon as I walked in the door, I gravitated to their grill or rollers or whatever they call them.  They have hot dogs and burritos there, ready for consumption.  7 Eleven always seems to be licensing and experimenting with new things to munch on or drink.  The time before it was Gatorade Fierce Green Apple and then the Doritos Loaded Snacks, both of which they had exclusive licenses for; things to could not find anywhere else.  That makes for a review just waiting to happen!!

This time, something really interesting to me was there: Pork Egg Rolls!!  My immediate thought was, “could 7-11 actually make a good egg roll?”

Here’s the review for you.  I hope you enjoy it.  Please feel free to leave comments and let me know, if you’ve tried the 7 Eleven Pork Egg Roll, what you thought about it.

Thanks for watching and I’ll talk with you next time!!! 😉

Regard,

Tony

Tut Tut! It Looks Like Rain!!

HOLA, GANG!!!!

Fall has hit my area with a vengeance and I’m not at all a happy camper. Such is the blight of a cranky, old nerd!

Rain, wind, gray, cloudy skies. There is nothing appealing about this season to me! I thrive in the warmth of the sun and blue, cloudless skies. But those days are no more. Why you gotta be like that, God? 😉

Regardless, neither rain, nor sleet, nor snow, nor hail shall keep me from my appointed reviews!!

Today, I spent the morning shooting a review by request. One of my lovely viewers asked me to do a food review on a particular breakfast item at a local fast food chain restaurant and, being the man I am, I graciously complied! hehe

Can you guess where I am?

The video review should be released next week, so stay tuned in to the Old Nerd Reviews YouTube channel.

I hope everyone is having a FREAKING AWESOME DAY and I’ll talk to you again real soon.
