Tomorrow Is NATIONAL PANCAKE DAY! #NationalPancakeDay

I love pancakes and tomorrow just happens to be National Pancake Day.  My favorite would be a big stack of blueberry pancakes, with lots of warm butter and pure maple syrup. #nomnom

What are your favorite pancakes?

National Pancake Day

I did a little research online for you and the only special I could find was from IHOP.  From 7am – 7pm, to celebrate National Pancake Day, they are offering a free short stack of buttermilk pancakes! In return, all they ask is that you make a donation to their charitable partner, Children’s Miracle Network Hospitals.  I’d say that’s a pretty good deal!

If you know of any other place offering specials in celebration of National Pancake Day, leave them in the comments here or hit me up on Twitter at http://www.twitter.com/oldnerdreviews and I’ll be happy to add them to this post.

Have a yummy time and I’ll talk to you again soon! 😉

HAVE A FREAKING AWESOME DAY!!

Hickory Farms Mustard REVIEW And LIVE YouTube Chat! | 1/8/2017

Hola, gang!

hickory farms gift basket

We did a live YouTube chat and food review today.  I received a couple jars of Hickory Farms mustard from my son and was anxious to try it out and share the results with you all.  I have some Hickory Farms Honey And Pineapple Mustard and a some Hickory Farms Sweet Hot Mustard.  I’ve loved anything from Hickory Farms since I was first introduced to them as a kid.  They still kiosk in when Thanksgiving and Christmas rolls around and used to have a full retail store in the local mall here.  Summer sausage, cheeses….just #nomnomnom!

Doing live chats rather than always doing regular YouTube videos always brings a dialog element to them.  They really are different and a lot of fun.  So, if you didn’t have a chance to hit it live, here is the archived video for you:

I’m trying to make sure I announce any live chats ahead of time now, so make sure you are following me on Twitter and Facebook, at least.  Since this was a regular Sunday release, I figured you all come on over without the announcement….although, I did announce it. 😉

HAVE A FREAKING AWESOME DAY!!

Today’s review is up on the Old Nerd Reviews channel.  I have once again combed the depths of my local dollar store to bring you all another exciting, gut-wrenching episode of Eating The Dollar Stores.  I’ve gone to the frozen food section to try the Pierre Boneless Pork Riblets.  There are many of you who want me to review the McDonald’s McRib.  Around the area I live, the McRib is nowhere to be found, so I wanted to bring you, hopefully, the next best thing.  Something you could use to Frankenstein together your very own.  Here’s the review:

There you go, gang!  Have a terrific weekend and I’ll see you on Sunday!

Time for the 2016 Portland Retro Gaming Expo!! Woot!!

FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE

LOCAL EXPOSITION TO BRING THOUSANDS OF VIDEO GAME FANS TO THE OREGON CONVENTION CENTER

Portland Retro Gaming Expo hosts a celebration of gaming history and culture

Video game fans from across North America will converge in Portland on October 21-23, 2016 for the 11th annual Portland Retro Gaming Expo (PRGE). PRGE is the largest convention of its kind in the U.S., featuring over 170 exhibitors, hours of panels on gaming development, history and culture, and thousands of games to play from over 45 years of gaming history. The “Retrocade” includes nearly 200 arcade and pinball titles set to freeplay, plus hundreds of home console games.

“When we started the event eleven years ago it was a group of friends getting together to trade, play and talk about video games.” said Chuck Van Pelt, show manager of the Expo. “Since that time we have expanded every year, eventually ending up in the Convention Center—the only venue in Portland that can handle our event. I guess you could say the popularity of retro gaming took us by surprise.”

Highlights of PRGE include tournaments on classic games by Atari, Sega and Nintendo, a curated video game museum, a game making workshop presented by the Portland Indie Game Squad and the 6th annual Classic Tetris World Championship where players from around the world will compete for the title of World’s Best at Tetris for the Nintendo Entertainment System.

The PRGE arcade will be open from Friday from 3:00 PM to midnight. The arcade plus the exhibitor floor and panels will open on Saturday morning at 9:00 AM and Sunday at 10:00 AM. PRGE is a family friendly, all-ages event that is open to the public.
More information about the activities available to attendees of PRGE and to purchase tickets, visit http://RetroGamingExpo.com.

I’ll be there, with video cameras blazing!  Maybe I’ll see you there?

Regards,

Tony
